Founder, Editor-In-Chief This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Casey Winters is your typical music junkie. Initially an electronic music guru, Casey now finds himself into a myriad of styles, finding most love for the albums that seem to clash as many genres together as possible. Casey has been a long-time message board warrior on IGN, becoming the "electronica expert" on its music boards. In 2006, he decided to purpose a Googlepages site for music recommendations. Surprised by the overwhelming response, Casey started to discuss the creation of a full-fledged music site with some friends, where not only he, but others with good taste, could review new music. From this idea, themusiclobby.com was born. headphone commute

In 1997, he founded the first non-profit organization of underground electronic musicians on the internet, United Trackers. The same year, Mike established an independent record label, Tranceplant Records. With tracks climbing on the London radio charts, Mike created a unique electronica sound, blending elements of modern classical sound with drum'n'bass, acid, and trip hop. In Headphone Commute, Mike is joined by his wife, Holly, to deliver unbiased and candid reviews covering their current listening trends and rotations. A long-time member of the WATMM forums, he spends entirely too much time searching for new music; as of late he has become obsessed with the techno/dub/electro axis of electronic producers, though he's mostly interested in ambient, IDM, and indie-esque rock (on vinyl, whenever possible!). neveryan

His interest in music began with his dad's jazz records and music from the skate videos his older brother had. He got his first turntables in the 8th grade and began learning scratch techniques with Charlie Brown and other spoken word records. He doesn't scratch anymore; he just listens and collects records these days. His main musical tastes include free jazz, Brazilian music, African and eastern sounds, hip-hop, electronic music, and MOSTLY beat music. Hip-hop music has been his gateway into many different genres of music due to the use of sampling and the art of digging for records. |
