Take is a Los Angeles-based beat maker that creates a unique blend of instrumental hip-hop and glitchy beats. According to his myspace page, when describing his sound one might think Brian Eno meets J Dilla. "Earthtones & Concrete" contains cosmic and warm textures that create an epic soundscape. The beats are constant and grow into one another in a very beautiful way as they are psychedelic and expansive beat collages. The album has a very West Coast feel to it as we hear the collaboration with the vocalist Gaby Hernandez (The Life Force Trio, Build an Ark) on "Walk Away." Having worked with artists such as Daedelus, Caural, Lukid, and host of others "Earthtones & Concrete" should appeal to the beat heads and those looking for a calm, relaxing experience in instrumental hip-hop beats.

Style: Downtempo, Instrumental Hip-Hop

RIYL: Lukid, Savath & Savalas
