iTAL tEK threw dubstep for a loop with last year's "Blood Line" 12" on Planet Mu. Showing that dubstep could be heavy and aggressive without sounding amateur, iTAL eschewed the film samples and created harsh and moody songs through crafty production and a successful mix of highs and lows, all in the space of four tracks. Now after the Deep Pools 12" and a collection of old material on Netlab, iTAL finally drops his debut album for Planet Mu. That this album is on Mu should be no surprise; iTAL from the start has been on the more experimental side of dubstep, at times sharing more in common with Autechre than Digital Mystikz. On Cyclical, he delivers on the promise of his 12" work, showcasing harsh moments as well as more delicately placed ambience. The production here is of course top notch, some of the most polished you'll hear in dubstep I'd go as far to say. For fans that have been following iTAL from the start, it might be disappointing to hear three previously released tracks here, but with this album, iTAL cements himself as one of the more forward-thinking dubstep artists.

Yes agreed along with Benga's Diary Of An Afro Warrior & 2562's Aerial-this is one of the best Dubstep albums of the year
