Ever wondered what a dubstep remix of "Pyramid Song" would sound like? Now you know as iTAL tEK drops this followup to the excellent Blood Line 12" for new imprint Square Records (the answer is pretty awesome, by the way). For the title track, tEK lays down base piano eerily similar to the Radiohead song, and layers it with traditional dubstep sounds. With a lesser dubstep artist, this experiment might sound laughable, but here it is brilliantly executed. "Shallow Sun" stays in more traditional territory, and is really a prime example of iTAL tEK's take on dubstep. With "Weave", tEK expands his palette even more with a female vocal presence from Annaka (whose voice immediately brings to mind Nicolette) and a very prominent Asian influence. It's trip-hop meets dubstep, and it works surprisingly well. Another captivating 12" from one of dubstep's most promising newcomers. Look out for an album this year on Planet Mu.

Style: Dubstep
