Keith Tenniswood of Two Lone Swordsmen fame returns to his Radioactive Man alias for a new album of retro electronic grooves that ends up sounding like an unearthed Artificial Intelligence compilation. All types of early 90s sounds are here: banging electro, expansive ambient techno, and squelchy acid - but they don't sound a bit dated and actually make for a quite refreshing listen. A collection of his non TLS work over the last four years, Growl is the type of record the phrase "intelligent dance music" was meant to describe, music that can be rocked in the clubs but can also be enjoyed at home or on the headphones on your way to work. It's nice to see such a talented producer going back to the roots and digging out the charm that made us all start listening to this stuff in the first place. If you're wandering what happened to the Warp sound, Keith's here to tell you that it's not dead; it was just hibernating.

Style: Electro, Ambient Techno

RIYL: Two Lone Swordsmen, Alex Smoke
