Amon Tobin returns with a collection of music based on found sounds, using instruments in irregular ways, and an altogether different approach of sampling and composition. His most ambitious work to date, Amon succeeds in expanding his palette once again, moving further away from his jazz and jungle roots more into musique concrete and the completely uncategorizable.

Style: Experimental

RIYL: Autechre, Matmos

By now, Amon Tobin is a common Ninja Tune staple, and resides in everyone's collection. It must be difficult to reinvent and improve on productions of Bricolage, Permutation, and Supermodified (among a few), but this amazing Brazilian born composer (who even had his hand in a soundtrack for a video game Splinter Cell), has done it again. With a higher budget, the sky (or is it his mind) is the limit. The Foley Room trailer shows the painstaking recording and sampling techniques along an orchestra incorporated in this carefully crafted cinematic masterpiece.
