Broadcast is back bearing a new mini LP comprised of 23 tracks with a story behind the album that you can read all about at Warp.net. It is already exciting enough to hear they are working on a brand new follow-up to 2005’s excellent “Tender Buttons” and with “Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age,” I’m just as excited to hear new material. The mini LP is comprised of many short interlude-like tracks between average length tracks. The electronically charged library and chamber music sound of the 60s is present as Julian House aka The Focus Group collaborates with Trish Keenan and the rest of Broadcast on this release creating a lush, echo-driven journey through psychedelia. The album feels more like a soundtrack than anything else, there aren’t really any standout tracks. However, my favorite track is the last track “The Be Colony/Dashing Home/What On Earth Took You?,” a sort of reprise of select tracks on the release. A great autumn release.
