I've been waiting for this album by the members of Duplex 100 since City Centre Offices first teased it over two years ago with "Rayon Vert" on its website's music player. For a while, I thought CCO was done after the closing of Hausmusik and its split with Baked Goods. But after only releasing the disappointing "A To B" by Miwon in 2008, CCO is hoping to use 2009 to replant itself in the minds of avant garde listeners, and this might be the record to get them back on track. The Seasons are an interesting mix of jazz and IDM. It's very lowkey, but a super enjoyable listen. Undone is a mix of acoustic instruments and electronics, in a lounge jazz setting. Think of a jazz influenced Arovane and you'll start to get an idea. What's also really cool about this album is that the band seems to know when they can stretch the sound, and go into more IDM territory, without getting carried away. They always find their way back to jazz. It's a tightrope they walk the entire album, and a key to its success. It fits right in with the type of music CCO was releasing a few years ago, and I hope they can hit the stride they were in from 2000-2004, because it's where many of my favorite albums of the decade came from.

Style: Future Jazz, IDM

RIYL: Silences Sumire, I'm Not A Gun
