Eine Kleine Nacht Musik is the latest instrumental dance band to make a big splash. The name, coming from Mozart, gives no insight into the mix of instrument/electronic fusion that is the band's sound, which ranges from very danceable material (think LCD Soundsystem minus vocals) to more something I would expect out of Capitol K. It's impossible to really label this album as it seems to completely shift gears with each new track. Yet somehow it plays like a DJ mix where all the tracks are connected and the tracks just segue into each other instead of stopping and starting again. The sounds really take a hold of you after a while though. It's a refreshing mix of a ton of different sounds (dare I say trends?) that becomes one giant head-bobbing experience. From house to electro to downtempo to weird synth work and acid, this album has it all.
