After last year’s incredibly successful joint venture with Ellen Allien, Apparat ditches the dancefloor to return to the vocal material he first explored on “Contradiction” and since expanded on the EP’s Shapemodes and Silizium. Apparat seems to be the one artist making vocal electronic music that doesn’t sound a carbon copy of the Postal Service, and the results are strong songs that show that the synthesis of electronics and vocals offer more than poppy club tunes or indie pop love songs.
