Bola returns on the rejuvenated Skam label with some of his best material since Soup (yes, I’m one of those people that prefers Soup to Fyuti). There’s an element of funkiness riding through this album that I haven’t really seen in a lot of his stuff. It’s as if he’s playing a real bass guitar over the top of his beats. I don’t know if that’s the right way to describe it, but whatever the process, it injects an excitement into his songs that I don’t really see with others clinging to the stereotypical IDM style. This is an album that recalls the freshness of Tri Repetae without making you wish you hadn’t heard it all before.

Style: IDM

RIYL: Secede, Proem

Buy from Skam  MySpace (Unofficial)

Download: Zoft Broiled Ed

All the good reviews sparked my interest, but unfortunately the album didn't do as much as the earlier releases. I dug the last track, Diamortem, but that's about all. The tracks didn't stand out or grab me in any way. I'm not bashing this release, and will come back to it for another listen. As a matter of fact - hitting play this very minute.
