Credit goes out to Gabe Koch for this discovery. Retic self-releases this gorgeous album of the type of IDM we're normally too jaded to like anymore, but somehow Retic infuses a charm to his tracks that just can't be denied. This would go along well with the "electronified hip-hop" Merck made its name off of, but in ways, it takes itself less seriously than an Esem or Blamstrain, and is certainly less frenetic than a Machine Drum. Not to be confused with the thousands of albums from laptop posers, this is an album of an assured quality with a subtle sense of humor.
