Ireland/Scotland based LuckyMe and All City Records have teamed up for a 7" series. The 7x7" series that comprises of some of the best in future beats. With producers such as Snowman, Mike Slott, and Mweslee already having released amazing 7"s, Hudson Mohawke is up at #6 in the series. For those familiar with Hud Mo, you probably know what to expect. His 6x7 release is an odd mix of tracks. "Star Crackout" is a beat-less psychedelic adventure full of crackles and pops. While these tracks may seem out of the ordinary, the strong amount of creative energy and forward thinking that Hudson Mohawke displays through each is quite exciting. Watch out for his Warp release as well as a new Heralds of Change album due out early '09.

Where to start at with Hudson Mohawke? This guy has made quite a name for himself in the past year and a half. Beginning with his "Hudson's Heeters" beat tape to the numerous remixes he has done for the likes of Lukid, Radio Citizen, Super Smoky Soul among others. This guy seems to be in demand, recently he has completed a remix of the track "Little Bit" by Jamie Lidell. Ooops! is a short EP full of bootleg remixes. The remixes range from r n' b tracks to southern influenced rap as they are slowed down and beaten to death by HudMo's amazing synth-heavy, crushing beats and production style. I am very excited to see what is next from Hudson, whether it is solo work, remixes or more work with Mike Slott under the Heralds of Change moniker, I am most certainly sure that it will be exciting.

Hailing out of Ireland and Scotland, Heralds of Change is the name of the future-beatmakers Mike Slott and Hudson Mohawke. The Puzzles EP is on some quite futuristic exploration in beats. With Nintendo-esque synths, 909 bells, and off-beat rhythms, its like a throwback to the 80s electro sound and a push forward into the future. After checking out all of the Heralds of Change EPs, I have yet to come across anything that sounds close in the style of their production methods. There are many influences in their sound, especially of the Detroit and Los Angeles flavor.
