Brael and Tokyo Bloodworm take the Moteer sound established by artists such as label heads The Remote Viewer and The Boats to new heights with this amazing collaboration. Mixing in elements of downtempo, shoegaze, classical, and more experimental sounds, these seven songs expand and are constantly manipulated, as if scores to extended Japanese battle scenes. There isn't much these two artists miss over the the course of the album in terms of sound, but the album as a whole has a cohesiveness to it you just know was painstakingly crafted. After hearing quite a few albums attempt this still and just miss the mark for one reason or another, it's great to see two groups come together and just nail a sound that's so fresh, inspiring, and intricate without an ounce of pretension.
