Seeland release their debut album Tomorrow Today after a couple of successful EPs. Seeland is made up of former members of Plone and Broadcast, which probably tells you a lot about what they'll sound like: spaced out experimental synthesized pop. Seeland reel themselves in here a little more than on their previous projects or their last EP "Crimson". Gruff Rhys-like vocals guide you through the album over bleepy melodies and ethereal rhythms, and there's less of an attempt to sound overly retro-futuristic. The album actually sounds like more of a throwback to the type of songs you might expect to hear in 70s soundtracks. Tomorrow Today is more straightforward in all areas than you would expect, and because of that more subtle than the songs on the Crimson EP. It's maybe not as immediately satisfying, but I've found few albums that can make you have not a care in the world while listening to them, and this is one of them. It is really like taking a chill pill.

Style: Indie Pop, Indielectronic

RIYL: Plone, Stereolab
