Creativity’s never been a problem for the Friedberger’s, and their new album is no exception. This record is packed full of the whimsical lyrics and off-the-wall production you’d come to expect while maintaining their distinct charm. On this record the Furnaces explore more work with the guitar, adding a harder edge to many album moments, without losing the overall playfulness of their style. Their newfound love of the guitar makes for a great addition to their repertoire, and gives them a chance to explore new sonic palettes without drifting too far into whackiness.
