The Helio Sequence return after an almost four year hiatus with their forth full-length, and it's probably their most straight-forward record yet, both in composition and sound. That said, the title track is probably one of the best songs you'll hear all year. Holding no punches, the track layers Helio's signature guitar manipulations with vocals that succeed on sheer emotion. It's quite simply one of those songs that doesn't come around too often. The rest of the album may seem to pale in comparison, but these are good songs that may just sometimes suffer from being a little less impactful than some of their previous work. So, while the whole of the album may not be up to par with Love and Distance or Young Effectuals, this is still a record well worth your time from a criminally overlooked band.

Style: Indie Rock

RIYL: Modest Mouse, Pinback
