Debruit is the latest French hip-hop producer to be making a serious splash. Cle De Bras straddles the line between aggressive hip-hop production and electro, kind of in the Dorian Concept or Daedelus mode. Fittingly, Daedelus appears for remix work here, with an absolute flawless rework (I always find his remixes better than his album work, honestly). Appearing directly after the track he's remixing, it actually plays like an extended mix right in the middle of the EP. Very cool slotting. "Gros" follows like a Middle-Eastern jamboree infected with a chip-tune virus. "Look 22" is my personal favorite, showcasing Debruit as a distant relative to Jackson and His Computer Band (when is he coming out with something new by the way?). "Congo Woomp" is the track that will probably turn most people's heads. African percussion filtered through the chip-tune and wonky movement. Try to contain yourself when you hear that one!

Style: Instrumental Hip-Hop, Electro

RIYL: Hudson Mohawke, Jackson
