2008 was a big year for Dorian Concept and I don't expect any of that to slow down in 2009, especially with the recent release of "When Planets Explode" out on Netherlands-based Kindred Spirits label. If you are not familiar with Dorian Concept or just don't believe the hype around the Austrian-based musician, then let "When Planets Explode" be your "welcome mat" to his sound. The album is explosive indeed, the range of freak-outs on the Casio, Alesis, and Korg is truly amazing not to mention that he is capable of this in an on the spot live performance setting. Definitely a master at freaking the keyboard. The opening track "Clap Beep Boom" is a nice stuttery and energetic workout of synths and beats headed on collision course. Crazy stuff.
