It's nice to get an instrumental release from Exile. "Radio" is exactly what you'd expect from the L.A.-based producer and from the title of the release. It's a clash and mash-up of beats between radio frequencies. The beats take a different direction from previous work, especially from the production he's done with Blu for the great "Below the Heavens" album. There is bit more abstraction of sound and effects at play that tends to work well. "Radio" is very much inspired from the current producers of the Beat Generation. "So We Can Move" contains a nice minimal beat and warm piano chords all while a chopped up swirling voice is heard around blips and beeps. Over all "Radio" is a consistent release and well worth checking out.

Style: Instrumental Hip-Hop

RIYL: J Dilla, Blu
