The much anticipated full-length from Mark Pritchard's Harmonic 313 project "When Machines Exceed Human Intelligence" comes at us with droned-out psychedelic bassline grooves over Detroit-style beats. The cover art and music both induce a very dark and cold feeling, however, this album has got soul. Maybe there's proof that robots have soul. You can expect to hear the ever popular "Word Problems" from H313's "EP1." Smack in the middle of the release is "Battlestar" featuring MCs Phat Kat and Elzhi over a Dilla-esque beat. I would have thought this was a Dilla track if I didn't know it was already Pritchard's work. The programing is amazing on the the album. The soulfulness comes from the funky grooves found in nearly every track that are quite danceable. Highly recommended.
