Samiyam joins Take, Ta'Raach, Ras G and Kutmah for another installment of Poobah's 10" beat series with "Man VS Machine." Besides the "Return" EP on Hyperdub, "Rap Beats Vol. 1" on Brainfeeder and the miscellaneous beat tapes floating around the internet "Man VS Machine" might feel like the most cohesive release yet from the dirty, wonky, stuttering beat-making producer. The average Samiyam fan will recognized beats like "Catch Me Riding Dirty" or the awesome "Fireball" among others. "Porno Slap" is the longest track on the album and probably the longest Samiyam track I've ever heard. It's full of NES-style synth and percussion with a swirl of warm, Dam-Funk-like synth flowing around the beat. This is an excellent release and again, probably the most cohesive of all the releases. It is nothing more than beats.

Style: Instrumental Hip-Hop

RIYL: Flying Lotus, Mike Slott
