If you need convincing that turntablism could be considered an art form, look no further than this new mix by Buddy Peace. Buddy is bringing a newfound maturity to the style. This is more than just a million cuts mixing popular and obscure music in a way that's funny or dancefloor friendly; this is a suberbly crafted collection of sounds from across the musical spectrum and beyond. Samples from film collide with rhymes from classic and indie hip-hop over backdrops of contemporary indie and country music, all without sounding a single bit disjointed. Buddy Peace gave us a glimpse of this style for his brilliant "Watch And Repeat Play" mix he recorded with Zilla for Warp Records' first ever DVD release WarpVision, but he completely trumps that mix here. Relieved of the restriction of only Warp material, Buddy shows just how extensive his musical knowledge is by mixes such as MF Doom with Jose Gonzales, or Edan and Liars. And those are just the simple ones I can identify. I don't think a review can really do justice to the thousands of hours of labor put into a mix like this. I can only recommend you grab a copy before 2600 runs out and reconsider what you thought a DJ mix was.

Thanks for the recommendation! It has a great pace and it doesn't take itself too seriously which I like.
